IE 7 & 8 problem with editing table

John Spackman

Hi guys

I’m having a problem that only occurs with IE when I have a table inside a tab view and the table is too long to fit on the screen.  While it is possible to scroll the page to the bottom and scroll the table to the bottom so that the last row is visible, it is not possible to edit the last row because clicking on the table causes the page to scroll back up so that the top of the table is visible.

Here’s a playground example: http://bit.ly/cDpzkI

I have a horrible suspicion that this may be an example of http://bugzilla.qooxdoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1757 but I’d appreciate it if someone could confirm or deny that.  If it is, it makes tables effectively readonly unless the app fits within the confines of a browser window which seems one hell of a restriction.

John

Re: IE 7 & 8 problem with editing table

Thomas Herchenroeder
The problem description sounds very familiar to me. But I wouldn't be
able to say if this is exactly covered by bug#1757. I've seen this with
lists and/or tables.

Re: IE 7 & 8 problem with editing table

John Spackman-3
This is turning out slightly worse than I thought - we have a couple of
links at the end of tabview pages for downloading that also don't work in IE
if they are not on screen because again, IE scrolls the top of the div into
view.

Is it not possible to track which control has focus and only call focus()
when genuinely necessary?
