Fabian Jakobs

bad and good news from sourceforge

* good: They have identified a significant svn performance issue and are
going to solve it

* bad: This means they have to put the svn service temporarily down
"2008-07-30 from 17:00 Pacific for not more than 12 hours". Affects
mostly non US commiter :-(

Best Fabian

Subversion service will be offline on 2008-07-30 from 17:00 Pacific for
not more than 12 hours to permit a rebuild of the storage used by the
service, followed by further performance tuning.

Performance of the Subversion service has been suffering due to an issue
with storage performance since the service was moved from our old
California datacenter to the new Chicago datacenter. The datacenter move
included a substantial storage capacity and performance upgrade, and was
extensively tested under load before this service moved; the problem
encountered post-migration was not anticipated. The Network Operations
team, led by Uriah Welcome, has been working diligently with our storage
vendor to identify the issue. This downtime will be used by the Network
Operations team and the storage vendor to perform fixes as per a plan
they have developed over the last week.

Site Status will be updated again when service is fully restored.
