Chrome 55: Bug with pointer events

Markus Donhauser
Hello,

since Chrome 55 update I receive two pointerup events after one pointerdown event.
Checkout Api-Viewer by clicking the Include-Button: The dropdown menu opens and shortly
afterwards closes again because of the second pointerup event, thus no drop down menu visible.

Is this a bug in Chrome or in Qooxdoo?

Friendly regards
Markus

Re: Chrome 55: Bug with pointer events

Dietrich Streifert
Hi,

Chrome offers since version 55 native pointer events, which are not
detected in qooxdoo previous to this PR on github:
https://github.com/qooxdoo/qooxdoo/pull/9219
This leads to native pointer events being fired and also artificial
pointer events.

Please also note corresponding issue
https://github.com/qooxdoo/qooxdoo/issues/9182 and especially comment
https://github.com/qooxdoo/qooxdoo/issues/9182#issuecomment-265161921
where vvandens documented how he managed to incorporate the PR in his
application.

Or you could use current master from github for your application:
https://github.com/qooxdoo/qooxdoo/archive/master.zip

Secondly, please would you consider asking further questions via
StackOverflow and tagging your question with “qooxdoo” as this will give
more visibility to the project.

Or chat on Gitter in the “qooxdoo” group there
(https://gitter.im/qooxdoo/qooxdoo)

Kind regards
Dietrich

I had the same issue: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/41084433/chrome-v55-breaks-qx-ui-form-menubutton

turns out Chrome added pointer events and there is a patch to fix this in Events.js: https://github.com/qooxdoo/qooxdoo/pull/9219
