Can you guys take a look at http://bugzilla.qooxdoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5615

Phyo Arkar
The long forgotten but very needed feature of qooxdoo most useful item , virtual-lists

when we add item with dynamic high , qooxdoo virtual list cannot increase size automatically which is annoying and there is no clean workaround for it.

Hey,
thanks for the pointer. As we don’t need that feature at the moment, we won’t get it done in the near future. But we are, as always, open for any pull request regarding this feature.
Regards,
Martin

Interested to contribute but , as qooxdoo is used by very few , motivation is needed.

Any a few other qooxdoo users out there need it?

I think it is partly a chicken and egg problem. If more people contribute,
more people are going to use the contribs and perhaps start contributing.

I would like to have more virtual widgets available. My need would be bigger
for the virtual table, but I might be able to benefit from virtual lists as
well.

Best regards,
Fritz

P.S.: I am acutally surprised to hear about new Qooxdoo-users every once in
a while working on rather complex (in-house) applications.

I can't agree more.

Virtual infrastructure is the one of the best thing offered by qooxdoo,  i am very suprised that it is still Experimental (for years ).

Qooxdoo is perfect fit for large, complex projects. But It is much much better for today's web.

We can easily do UIs like Trello.com in qooxdoo and quickly, compare to Backbone (Trello is done in backbone..) and Angular. Qooxdoo is light years ahead.

I need it for my chat app:

we want the chat list items to be able to scale . Now we had to give it fixed size due to that.

I have a similar issue with table. I'd need variable size row heights (for
displaying text of variable length) ...

May be one of these days the need becomes big enough to spend some effort on
in ...
